Nenad Ivović | Director of Instrumental Music

Nenad Ivović serves as Music Director of Instrumental Music, bringing his passion for music, collaboration, and worship to the church community. Originally from Belgrade, Serbia, Nenad is an internationally active pianist and educator who has performed and taught around the world. Outside of music, he enjoys spending time by the water and, in his younger years, was an avid table tennis player. He is grateful for the opportunity to share his love of music and help create meaningful moments of worship together.

The Church Accompanist

Pianist Nenad Ivović has appeared as a soloist and chamber musician throughout Europe, United States, South America and Asia earning recognition for his artistry, versatility, and collaborative work. His performances have been shaped through collaborations with some of the most distinguished musicians of our time, including András Schiff, Emanuel Ax, Augustin Hadelich, Dmitri Bashkirov, the Emerson String Quartet, Mikhail Voskresensky, Alexander Toradze, and Peter Serkin.

A prizewinner at numerous international competitions, Ivović gained international attention after winning First Prize at the International Piano Competition in St. Petersburg. His performance of Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 with the St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra earned additional special prizes and the EMCY Award, leading to concert engagements across Europe. He is also a recipient of the prestigious György Cziffra Prize awarded by the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna.

Born in Belgrade, Ivović studied at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade with Nevena Popović, graduating as the top student of his class. He continued his musical studies at the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music at Tel Aviv University, where he earned a Master of Music degree under the guidance of Prof. Emanuel Krasovsky. He then pursued advanced studies at Yale University, earning a Master of Musical Arts degree under the guidance of Boris Berman. Following his graduation, Ivović joined the Yale School of Music as a collaborative pianist and chamber music coach.

Currently, Ivović is pursuing doctoral studies with Julian Martin (The Juilliard School) while serving on the faculty of the University of Hartford (USA).
