Christian Service
Jesus told his disciples that to serve the poor and needy is to serve God (Matt 25:31-40). We take this call seriously and are committed to feeding, sheltering, clothing, nurturing, visiting, sharing with, and caring for our neighbors. Not only is this a Christian call, it builds the kind of community and town in which we all want to live.
The First Church Board of Christian Service organizes regular opportunities with partner nonprofits to volunteer in ways that provide direct help to those in need. Our non-profit partners are agencies that help us live out our gospel mission of love and care. We hear regularly about their work, support them with our time and money, and find opportunities for hands-on volunteering.

Service is also built into our children and family programs. Four times a year in Kids Church our students take part in mission projects which reinforce the values of generosity, service, and caring for others.

We are a generous church. Each year we provide thousands of dollars to local nonprofit partners who also work to help our neighbors in need and respond to events around the globe. Time, talent and treasure given by our church members forms the backbone of our commitment to transforming the world into a place of peace and justice for all. You can help too!
