Meetinghouse Concert Series
About the Series
In 2026 a group of Woodbridge music aficionados began a new partnership to hold the Meetinghouse Music Series at the First Church of Christ in Woodbridge. An anonymous benefactor made a donation sufficient enough to purchase a beautiful Yamaha grand piano and also jump start all the necessary promotional efforts to get the series launched. The goal of the series is to bring exceptional musicians to Woodbridge and create a welcoming space where people can experience great live music close to home while strengthening the cultural life of the community.
The inaugural concert took place Sunday, March 29, 2026, in the sanctuary of the church. That performance featured pianist Nenad Ivović and bassoonist Frank Morelli — two musicians with international reputations who also share strong ties to the New Haven and Woodbridge community. A second performance was held on Sunday, May 10, 2026, titled “Our Stories in Song,” That concert featured internationally acclaimed gospel singer Theresa Thomason and multi-instrumentalist Jeff Boratko on piano, both of whom have performed with the Grammy Award‑winning Paul Winter Consort. The hope is that the Meetinghouse Music Series will grow into a regular cultural offering for Woodbridge and the surrounding region — a place where people can come together to listen, reflect, and share in the experience of live music. There now exists a Place, a Piano and Performers of amazing talent with hopeful expectations for this partnerships.
