Children and Family Ministry
At First Church of Christ Woodbridge, family is the foundation of our growing faith community. Our schedule is full of offerings for community family events, youth faith-formation, volunteer service opportunities and more. We also know that raising a child takes a village. Many families in Woodbridge and surrounding communities find a village of friendship and support here at FCCW. We invite you to come learn more!

Kids Church
Sunday Mornings
On Sunday mornings during 10 am Worship, we offer special youth-focused programming. For many children, our Kids Church is their first experience attending church, and the foundation of their faith, and we don’t take that responsibility lightly. We welcome every child to experience a safe space to learn and grow within their faith, and make friends along the way.
Nursery
In the Sanctuary is a Nursery, where parents can go to rock, soothe, change, or feed their babies, as well as plenty of books and toys for toddlers to enjoy.
Classrooms
We offer different classrooms to accommodate a range of ages. Each class focuses on the same Bible Story and Lesson each week, with crafts, games, activities and discussion appropriately tailored to its attendees.
Children's Message
About 10 minutes into our Worship Service, our Children’s Ministry staff will lead a Children’s Message, and then bring students to Kids Church. Parents are free to come along too! Children that prefer to remain in the main worship service are free to do so.

Youth
For our teens, we have volunteer opportunities for involvement and leadership as part of our Children’s Ministry.
Mission Projects
Giving and serving others are core parts of our Christian faith. Throughout the year our Kids Church families get involved in various Mission Projects to learn about, raise funds for, and contribute time and energy toward local nonprofits. Our children have helped raise funds for local animal shelters and food banks. We knit blankets for women’s shelters and visit elderly community members, and so much more!
Community Events
Each month we offer a free family fun event for anyone in the community to attend with their children or grandchildren. We know that finding affordable fun for kids can be a challenge, and we see this offering as part of our ministry to the community. Typically held on Saturdays, these events often include games, crafts and music for young children. Find out about upcoming Community Events by signing up for our mailing list.
Parents Night Out
Offered for potty-trained preschoolers and elementary schoolers, Parents Night Out provides a fun Friday evening for kids at First Church, while parents get the night off. Drop your students off for an evening of games, crafts, activities, and a movie. There is an affordable suggested donation and money raised helps to support our other programs. Enjoy a night out for a fraction of the cost of a babysitter, while knowing your child is well cared for at FCCW.
Children and Family Ministries are overseen by Ms. Becca, our Coordinator, and our Board of Children and Family Ministries. Our Board is made up of caring parents and adults who want families to grow and thrive.

So many people play a vital role in our Children’s Ministry. There are options to volunteer which run the gamut, from helping teach Kids Church, to working backstage on the Christmas Pageant, to staffing the bounce house at our annual Strawberry Festival. If you would like to volunteer, there is a role for you too that fits your schedule and capacity!
